Today, the children were engineers! From project managers to a full work-force, they worked tirelessly to clear the stream of all the autumn leaf litter and then dig a deeper channel to increase the flow. They continued to work hard, creating dams where the water could pool which served as a good hand washing station as they broke for lunch. After lunch, they resumed their jobs, making further adjustments and finally used the dammed water to extinguish the fire. An excellent child initiated and led activity which demonstrated incredible teamwork, purpose with the ability to readjust and make improvements in a constructive and considered fashion which all added to the satisfaction and fulfilment when the task was completed.

Young folk with lots of sensible ideas. Sounds good training for the next generation. Well done!
